Jimmy Smith

Ambassador

These days I am living in Boulder, Colorado and focused on being the best all around rider I can be. Using the mountain bike as a tool to explore my surroundings, develop a deeper relationship with nature and push myself both physically and mentally. As a bit of a jack of all trades on the bike I enjoy everything from the local set dirt jumps to a 500 mile bike packing mission and just about everything in-between. Competativelty I am stoked to be focused on some more adventurous Enduro and technical XC races this year.

What is your first memory on a bike?
The one that really sticks out is landing my first 180 on the BMX bike. We had a little dip that ran across our driveway that I would use as a kicker and I couldn't event tell you how many times I tried that trick before I stuck it and the roll out.
Best feeling on a bike?
That moment of weightlessness as you're leaning into a corner right before the tires hook up.
What is your biggest source of inspiration outside of mountain biking? Why?
Surfing without a doubt. Who knew riding waves of energy generated by the moon and could look so damn cool. Bringing that flow and style to the woods is always something I aspire to do.
A word of advice to the groms
Keep it fun and fall in love with the process of progression.
Speed or Style?
Speed and style can't be beat, but if I'm picking one. Style all day.
Top 3 riding destinations?
British Colombia, Canada, Oaxaca, Mexico, and Boulder, Colorado
